About the event
The Welcome Dinner for the launch of the 27th International Thomas Hardy Conference and Festival will be followed by a special presentation of Hardy's works and how they were inspired by the women in his life, by renowned biographer, Paula Byrne and her husband, esteemed historian, Professor Sir Jonathan Bate.
The presentation will be followed by a performance of "Tess's Sisters: Songs of the Working Women" by Caroline Butler and Dave Townsend of the Mellstock Band.
